My name is Michael L. Hébert. My mother's maiden name was Woodruff and she is descended from the Virginia Woodruffs. I also have possible New York Woodruff ancestry on my father's side. Woodruff DNA Project

Project Details - There is a new DNA project dedicated to the Woodruff surname—including variations Woodroof, Woodroffe, Woodrove, Woodrough, Woodruffe, etc. The project uses the tools of the new field of genetic genealogy to investigate the various Woodruff lineages from the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, and anywhere else in the world Woodruff families are found. Dot Tribble's Woodruff Genealogy - Information from a ca 1917 document by Caldwell Woodruff outlining the descendants of Joseph Woodruff, b. abt 1735 in London, ENG, d. 1799 in Broro Neck, MacIntosh Co., GA, m. abt 1764 in Jamaica, West Indies to Mary Forrester.
